Who do you think was the better AC/DC frontman and singer

Working Man says:
Bon Scott. I lost interest in AC/DC after Bon's death and Back in Black, which Bon contributed too before his death.

Bon Scott. No contest.

Dugan Nash says:
I like that AC/DC went a different direction after Bon instead of looking for a clone, and there's some Brian stuff I definitely like, but that said, to me, Bon IS AC/DC.

Resolved: Bon Scott but I admire Brian. He suceeded where (for example) Ripper Owens failed.

Bon Scott for sure. Nothing against Brian. I find myself listening to the older stuff like Jailbreak and Soul Stripper.

I saw AC/DC in '83,'85 and '88 so only saw the Johnson version live. I thought he was great but really only listen to Bon era at home so if I had to pick I'll go with Bon on the strenghth of the material alone.

Bon Scott IS AC/DC! I saw Bon in 1978 opening for Aerosmith andd they killed Aerosmith that nite. Ive seen AC/DC with Brian and hes Ok. You take away Back in Black and AC/DC w/Brian is pretty mediocre.

Brian Johnson for me. Bon Scott was sexier, but Brian Johnson was more ferocious. Johnson sounded great again on Black Ice, at age 61. And let's hear it for rock guys who find success after age 30...who look like truck drivers.

Bob Bykowski says:
Bon was both funnier and nastier at the same time, and came up with the more hilarious song titles and lyrics. But Brian is the guy who would probably be more likely to converse, tell stories, laugh and have a drink with you after the show.

Bon would puke on your shoes. Doesn't that mean anything?

Posted on Aug 5, 2011, 1:08:27 PM PDT
Bob Bykowski says:
Yeah, Bon puking means something. It means that, like John Bonham, he didn't know when enough was enough. Something that Keith Richards must have learned to manage over the years.

Keith learned to never sleep on his back.

Like a lot of you have said Bon is AC/DC. I have started to like ac/dc brian era. but there was quit a dry spell there for a while. Stiff upper lip is great. Razors edge, Back in black. I do like for those about to rock. Ball breaker is great.

But for the most part,.... they changed the approch after bon.

B. rogers says:
The Razor's Edge is a GREAT AC/DC album. It's kinda commercial in parts's the best they had done since Back In Black and while they have released good albums ever since, I don't think they match The Razor's Edge.

Bon Scott, I just loved the way he sang and had a much greater charisma and the music was a lot better

BON! I don't like AC/DC after Bon.

Hands down Bon Scott! Brian Johnson can't hold a flame next to Bon Scott. I do like Back in Black and a few tunes from For Those About to Rock but other than that the Bon Scott output runs circles around the Brian Johnson output.
