Thanks for letting us know!

D. Stom says:
I was hoping for the new Neighbor from Hell.

I'm just not as excited about the Pyte series.

Posted on Mar 24, 2012, 8:41:31 AM PDT
I agree with you D. Stom. Don't think I will read another Pyte.

HJ Leonard says:
I still haven't finished the first one.

D. Stom says:
the first Pyte?
IMNSHO, it's just "meh." I finished it because I hate not finishing, but not because I was necessarily intrigued by anything in the story. (I sure as hell hope that the younger sister gets slapped a few times, and that the young man/teen ?chris? finds someone worthy - and it damned well better not be the younger sister.)

Karlyn says:
Loved the neighbors series, but the pyte series was crazy weird. Ill wait for another neighbors book, but that's it.

I enjoyed the first Pyte book, so I'll definantly read the second. :) She said that the next book out is a neightbor from hell.

HJ Leonard says:
Chris's book is already out - Without Regret (Sentinel Series), but I hadn't heard good things about it. I have it in my TBR (bought) pile, but haven't tackled it.

Aw! I was so hoping for an EMS or a NFH book. I didn't really enjoy the Pyte one at all. Anyone have information on the other series release dates?

I have the Pyte book but I haven't read the first on yet. I know she said after she finished working on the new Pyte book she was goin back to working on the next NFH book so that's good news.

Nils says:
I'm looking forward to the next Neighbor from Hell and I'm not. I loved the first two, especially the second, but too much of her style and it almost veers into campy. I read the EMS one right after the other two and that's what happened for me, it was too much. I started disbelieving things in the books that I needed to just go with to enjoy it. So I'm a little afraid that will happen with the next book. I'll sit down, start reading and loving it, and oops, too far.

But 99 cents for a full-length book! Who does that? I'll give it a try for sure.

I agree with you, some things in her book are very highly unbelievable. I read A Humble Heart (A Hollywood Hearts Novel) and while it was a cute book I had to stop myself from rolling my eyes a few times.

R. Allred says:
Man, I really, really loved her Neighbors From Hell series. Can't wait to read the next one! I think it's her best series. I read the Pyte and Sentinel books. I got stuck about 1/4 of the way through the first Pyte book, Tall Dark & Lonely, and just quit. But a few days ago, I picked it up again (digitally of course) and like the rest of the book a lot better. For me, it's just that Ephraim was kind of gross in the first part of the book, but it got less disgusting as the book went on. Then I got into the story more. These days, I need vampire books to be different than the standard old-school drink-human-blood-for-all-eternity kind of world-building. Just bugs me for some reason. I think taking away the ability to have children from a whole section of the population, making their only form of "procreation" a process of mutating humans, just kills the romance for me. Kind of personal, not something that judges the quality of the writing. I've tried to get into the Amanda Ashley vampires, but I can't. Not to say she's not a good writer. It's just one of those reader quirks that has more to do with personality and life-view than with the quality of story, etc. Wow, I think I went off-track. Let's see, where was I? I liked Tall, Dark, and Lonely because it eventually went somewhere besides classic vampire, which I appreciated. It made the story more interesting. I didn't really get into Without Regret, however, which is a branch of TDL. Chris and Isabella needed a good smack, or a good rewrite. More development for the choices they made. I almost felt like I was getting whiplash sometimes for their turnarounds. And it was a little like putting some of the characters from the NFH series into a serious paranormal, but it didn't work. I do like her world-building in either of the books, just that the characters needed better cohesion.

Can't say enough about the NFH Bradford men, though. Love them! I've never liked obnoxious jerks so much!

HJ Leonard says:
I agree. I liked the Neighbors from Hell series, but TD&L just didn't do it for me. I don't think I'll read the next one when it comes out.

Redwithabook says:
I'm pretty sure the next neighbor from hell book has a hero who is not a Bradford! I'm gonna miss that I loves the Bradford men's food addiction.

I adored the Neighbor from Hell series, but like a few of you, I got stalled on the first Pyte book.

Last month I read the intro to the fourth NFH. Appears all the Bradfords will be making a return :)

Yes, there's only 2 so far. She must have meant the 3rd.

RISE UP says:
Currently two NFH books are available. The Rory/Connor (NFH #3) should be available soon. But I'm not sure if there is a connection to the Bradfords. Last month, R.L. Mathewson website did have an excerpt of NFH #4 available. The first chapter did have a cameo of the Bradfords (which was hilarious).

Per the website: "I am working on the following and am more than halfway done with each book: Pyte Novel #2, Neighbor from Hell #3, Paranormal #1, Neighbor From Hell #4, A Hollywood Heart Novel #3, Anger Management #1, Pyte #3, Pyte #4."

EDIT: typo

Last I heard she was also working on a historical Neighbor from Hell book, I'm really excited about that one! :)

Somewhere I heard Mathewson intends to write 6 or 7 NFH books. I hope that's still true.
