the purpose of the book was to show how the French American class brought something exciting to close to one million American elementary school children by exposing them to French culture and language. Many participants in the book say that the program was such an eye opener for them and had great influence on their schooling first and life second.

I can see that you all have some notion of French, the kind of French learned some 50 years ago. I have seen some funny books in French such as " la plume de ma tante" . We had the same type of phrases while learning English. One of them was '" My taylor is rich!"
