I read a book about 15 years ago, I thought the title was "iron will" but that got me nowhere, maybe something with wolf in it? Anyhow, it was a futuristic story- had a guy fleeing some sort of vague collapse of society on an electric powered bike- falls in with a family in an armored wagon, ends up with some woman giving birth in a cave that he had outfitted from an abandoned farm. Not knowing what this book was is driving me crazy! Does it sound familiar to anyone?

I think it's Wolf And Iron by Gordon Dickson.

Amazon has it for--$1,565!!?? Way cheaper at Abe Books. (Whew!)

It's gone down to $159.58... What a bargin.. ;)

You see something like that, and I guess I'm just not enough of a collector to find that reasonable at all... wow...

I ordered a used hardback of the book from one of the third-party sellers here at Amazon, paid less than $5 for it.. Turned out to be a first edition library book that was in great condition. Haven't gotten around to reading it yet though..

Especially ridiculous pricing in light of the fact that they're a dollar on Abebooks.
