John McClain says:
Yes, because no one has ever shown any evidence that vampire exist. If you understood the fundamentals of science, you would've realized this.

Whether or not they disposed of it is irrelevant. It was a human, not a vampire. We know this because vampires don't exist.

"It is old English"

I'm working on a Theory of Trolls. For starters, I'm listing Traits of a Troll:

1) Trolls don't get jokes
2) Trolls don't talk to other trolls
3) Trolls make extraordinary assertions
4) Trolls never provide evidence for their extraordinary assertions
5) Trolls never provide a reasonable answer to any question

John McClain says:
"The vampire was buried"

You mean the human was buried. Vampires don't exist.

Mason: Has anyone seen one troll talking to another in this forum?

Maybe not in Science, but over in Evolution Bad Bob Budnic and Bookhitter (Morris) talk to each other all the time.

JagdTiger: "It says "VAMPYRE" on the grave...what is there to say? "

Thanks for replying to my posts, JT. I'll reply to the above reply and to the several preceding it all in one, to kind of keep things under control:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like you are simply saying you know there is a gravestone with the word "Vampyre" engraved on it, and with a birth date but no death date and no name. Is this basically the extent of what you "know"? And this knowledge is based on your own eyewitness?

OK, I think we can provisionally accept that. So far nothing that seems astounding or paradigm shifting here.

JT: "I worked cutting the eastern cemeteries "

I'm unfamiliar with the phrase. Does this mean you dug graves or otherwise maintained or created cemeteries? Is this experience the basis for your description of the burial pattern -- that the Vampyre grave had been originally set off from the others, and only later surrounded by others as the graveyard expanded? That would seem to be reasonable qualification.

Incidentally, I am puzzled that a vampire would be buried in consecrated ground. Was it a church graveyard?

JT: "They believed it was a vampire,I think it is possibly a she. "

Although there are alternatives, there apparently was a vampire "panic" in 19th century New England. Someone posted links.

So very possibly whoever erected that stone did indeed believe in vampires, and that some specific person was one.

But belief, especially in the midst of a relatively short lived panic, does not constitute evidence for the existence of actual vampires.

As to the question of it referring to "a she", well you made the assertion. Again the old burden of proof thingie -- it's up to you to adduce evidence, not someone else to disprove it. Not that I recall the point you were trying to make with the issue of the victim's gender.

I didn't watch Happy Days much either. But the "jump the shark" episode is very famous because it created a much-used idiom.

Has anyone seen one troll talking to another in this forum? Or is that as rare as a Bigfoot sighting? Any half-baked theories on why this doesn't occur? Is it because parasites never attach themselves to their own kind? Is it because trolls can't get any nourishment from other trolls? Is it professional courtesy?

Did you happen to see the "jump the shark" episode of Happy Days some years ago? (1977 actually)

Re John McClain, 7-24 3:35 PM: "...alien sharks are walking around biting people..." Did you happen to see any of the "land shark" skits that ran on "Saturday Night Live" some years ago? Funny stuff.

No worries; I'm quite fed up!

Hit the road, Troll
And don't you get fed no more
What you say?

They aren't doing it at night either, because until you can provide evidence of their existence, they're a fiction.
