Hi, I am from Bulgaria and I am a big fan of Kindle since forever. I haven't yet met anyone from Sofia or Bulgaria in general who has Kindle. I'd love to meet a read-loving soul with Kindle in Bulgaria :-)

Hey, you may get lucky :-)
There's a Kindle DX 1st generation white one, at least that i know of.
here's the description:
it's from the site, hicomm. the guy is good, communicative, he may let you see the baby ;-)
I have a DX Graphite, but you'll have to stroll to Varna to see that one ;)
And, yes, it's worth its money for what it does.
And besides, so long the free 3G internet access is indeed free!

I just wanted to see who else has it, not to see the Kindle itself. I had a Kindle 2 for a year and it got stolen with my purse in Jumbo Shop in Sofia 2 weeks ago, now my Kindle 3 3G has just arrived. Kindle is definitely worth it's money- I was using Facebook in the Italian mountains, tweeting from the train and 3G coverage in Bulgaria is real good.

I know at least 5 friends who have Kindle in Sofia, and with me it makes 6. At this rate after several more months you'll surely meet someone with Kindle.
Btw, I just bought mine and my first Kindle edition book :)

Hello there, everybody. Great to hear that Kindle and ebook reading is alive and well in BG. How easy is it to download books there? Is it pretty straightforward?

Hello, Nickolay, it is indeed as easy as getting it on wifi.
when using 3G access for delivery, it is fast, too, since the Kindles rely on Vodafone's sister network in Bulgaria, Mtel, and it is pretty good. Usually the cleraing of the payment arrives 2-3 minutes AFTER the book is downloaded in less than a minute.
As for the Fire brands, I suspect that Amazon Prime content might not be reachable, since the free games not covered in Europe aren't accessible normally, too, just like Hulu. So tak it with a grain of salt and consult beforehand whether the material is cleared in your area.

Thanks, T.V., that's good news because I can get short-story collection, The Dreams of Savages, to readers in BG - the easy way.

Hi there - I live in the U.S. but I want to download kindle books in Bulgarian. In particular I am interested in children's literature. Where can I get that? When I look at the Kindle ebook store I only see Ebooks en Espanol...... Thanks a bunch!

Greetings! My just-published Kindle novel enjoys many chapters in your capital city, and around it. Your enjoyment of reading may give you interest, locally, as much time was used for me to research/create a 'feel' for the interesting city of Sofia.
The novel is called, "Ghosts of Paris," and can be found via Kindle and Amazon.com, under 'books.'

Best regards to you,

Christopher R Brennan

Hi. My friend is Bulgarian but leaves in Malta. She wants to buy a kindle for reading purposes only and of course with a large variety of books in Bulgarian not English. Which kindle would you recommend and where can she purchase it? If not possible to get it in Malta then can I buy it for her and ship it internationally?
