New Movie(s)

Mr. Lucas,

Recently there was a debate on the internet about Star Wars Vs Star Trek, and then Vs Twilight (haha). But anyway of course fan boys flamed back and forth, but one person made a very compelling argument (of course I can't remember) but his whole point was that if Star Wars ever made more movies, or live action television, it would own Star Trek. So...I would really like it if you or Lucas arts or Steven Spielberg would make more Star Wars movies. There is a ton of source material for you to use, from books, comics and video games and tons of pop culture like fan fiction. With the advances that we have seen with Avatar I think it would be great to use some of that technology to make a new Trilogy.
If you don't feel like making a new trilogy thats fine but please allow other generations to see Star Wars or allow other movie creators to bring it to the big screen.
I personally would like to see something about Nomi Sunrider and a trilogy based around her, but then again I would also like to see what happened to Luke, Han, and the rest after The Return of the Jedi.
I know I don't make a very strong argument, I know that you have heard of all these requests before, but know that there would be tons of support for a new Star Wars Trilogy, or a television series. I also know that if you were able to do this the Star Wars Vs Star Trek argument would be over.

Thanks,

Star Wars Fans!

I too would like to see movies about other eras in the SW history.
There are plans to make a live action TV show, from what I recall, it takes place between episode 3&4.
Possibly after the Clone Wars cartoon finishes up. But that is going pretty strong so I think we can expect a 5th and 6th season.

I think the biggest issue, for fans, is that George doesn't really play in the same sandbox as the other contributors. He writes stories and makes changes as he pleases. so should he do anything after ep 6. there is so much stories, it will be bound to clash. Unless they go somewhere between Fate of the Jedi and Legacy... I think it is about 100 yrs. open. Would be nice actually, as the actors have all aged. Get new characters on the big screen for a new generation of audiences.

George has pretty much put his foot down that the movies are really the story about Anakin, and that whole story is resolved in Episode VI. i mean, they killed the Emperor, how do you top that? He's allowed the freedom for Star Wars to thrive and grow through all the expanded universe material we have. he acknowledges the EU, even contributes to and oversees some of them, but the story HE wants to tell and adhere to is the 6 movies. he can't keep up with everything else. i understand where you're coming from, but there's really no "need" for new movies, even from other directors, when we have everything else there's so much keeping Star Wars going. and with The Clone Wars still going, and Underworld (the live action series) still in development, there's no need to compete that strongly with Star Trek (which i also enjoy) either. i'm honestly not sure how you expect more movies to compete with several tv shows with its own set of movies, especially when Star Trek's supplemental like books and comics are all considered non-canon, wheras Star Wars' are mostly canon. No, Star Wars doesn't NEED more films, especially not more "Episodes". That story is over. But it still has an awful lot going for it.

If some new movies were ever made, I would love for them to focus on new characters.

I'd love to see an Old Republic trilogy of movies. Maybe a movie of Revan and Malak or even brand new characters from that era.
