The MAGICIAN TV series (1973) starring Bill Bixby. When are they going to release this show on DVD? Anybody know?

I agree Mark, that one is overdue. Even "Room 222" is on DVD now.
Trivia Question: What was The Magician's personalized license plate?
If that is too easy, here is another: What TV series had the first personalized license plate for its main character?

I am told "The Saint" starring Roger Moore.
His car was a Volvo that displayed the plate: SAINT 1...

The Room 222 release was only a partial release not the full series. The releases for Love Boat, Get Smart, and Room 222 should have a proper episode synopsis so you know what is in it. I wouldn't mind a single season release of St Elsewhere with synopsis

I bought it and the quality is poor, these are transfers form video to DVD and I can only hope a better copy comes along soon.

Yeah. I would buy the entire series if it was available.

I've been watching and waiting for this to be properly issued for a long time. I have seen the media collectibles edition, as well as a couple of others, but am concerned about quality. I wonder whether the fact that there was only one season is why it's not been released? I remember when the show was cancelled - I was hugely disappointed. I would definitely buy it if the studio would do a run.

WAYYY too easy for a total fan like me who watched the show every week, & claims it as one of the inspirations for doing magic myself! "SPIRIT" was what the license plate read. :)

The Magician - PRESTO! The Long-Awaited Show Starring Bill Bixby is Coming to DVD!
No specific release date yet, but Visual Entertainment Inc. says to watch for it as a 'complete TV collection'

Visual Entertainment, Inc. (VEI) is well-known in North America for TV-DVD releases (in both the USA and Canada) of some highly acclaimed television shows, including The Sentinel, Barnaby Jones, Cannon, Grace Under Fire, Hotel, Cagney & Lacey, The Equalizer, Nash Bridges, Hell's Kitchen, Diagnosis Murder, McMillan and Wife, In Search Of..., The Mod Squad, John Byner's Bizarre, (Chef Gordon) Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, and many more. Now the Toronto-based studio is announcing that they are releasing a new slate of "complete TV collections," and one of the classic television programs to "watch for" will be The Magician.

This is the long-awaited 1973 series which ran on NBC for a single season of 21 regular episodes, following a pilot telefilm. It starred Bill Bixby (The Incredible Hulk, The Courtship of Eddie's Father) as "Anthony Blake," the titular magician. In the regular weekly run of the show, Bixby did all his own magic, and episodes were preceded by an announcement that no trick photography was used to accomplish those tricks. Guest stars included John Colicos (Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek), Jessica Walter (Arrested Development, Archer), Yvonne Craig (Batman, Star Trek), Mark Hamill (Star Wars, The Flash), and William Shatner (Star Trek, T.J. Hooker, Boston Legal). Note that this series is not to be confused with the late-'90s animated program that originated in France and aired in the USA on the Fox network.

This show is just ONE item taken from a very impressive list of 11 newly-named shows (see our ten other news posts today for those items). NOTE that specific release dates have NOT BEEN SET so far...nor do we have details or package art at this time, either; just the heads-up to expect this release in the future. Stay tuned for updates, as further developments occur!
