RichieV says:
We complain about TV shows here on these forums but if you could create one what would it be.
I will start with: Starfleet Academy

What it would be: We follow a group of cadets as they make their way from first year cadets (plebs) until graduation.

We also follow the increasingly deteriorating alliance between starfleet and the Klingons. This directly affects KENDU, who is a Klingon cadet who wants to be a starfleet officer but has loyalties to his Klingon heritage. The series ends with a sneak attack on the federation by the Klingons. Kendu brings down the planetary shields in an act of betrayal. The group of cadets have to go into battle for the first time.

Series ends with the battle over but the war has just begun.

Why: Because Star Trek has gotten stagnant, looking backwards with TV shows and ReBoots, instead of moving it forward.

Good topic here, and the responses should be interesting.

I'd do a weekly one hour series, a quirky comedy with qualities of a drama/soap, a show about a small town -- maybe in the Deep South, in the 1970's. We'd meet a bunch of eccentric people and get caught up in their lives and loves and flaws and scandals, etc. We'd experience the church fellowship, the beauty salon, the diner, the men's lodge.

The main character could be a teenage boy (but the cast would span ages 8 to 88).

There would be a handful of main characters, plus some recurring characters. The stories would involve romance, tragedy, villainy, struggles, even murder ... but always with sort of a Mel Brooks style of humor laced throughout. Or maybe a nostalgic Woody Allen feel to it, like "Radio Days".

I'd do this sort of program because I love a good continuing story, and small town life. Plus, a comedy is always welcome.

Edit: And I'd do this sort of series because we already have more than enough crime scene/forensic/murder series, as well as doctors/surgery/romance/trauma series. Those are a dime a dozen. We need something different.

Since it's that time of the year how about a show called:

The Clauses.

It would center around the Organization that St. Nick and his Family has established at the North Pole, and the situations that have to be overcome everyday, so that "The Big Delivery" can take place on Christmas Eve.

PS. Why do Santa and his Elves and Livestock have all of those magical powers? We find out that they are from another Planet!
