During an interview with the Toronto Sun about GlaDOS' apparent casting in his upcoming film Pacific Rim, Guilllermo del Toro also had some things about his upcoming game, InSANE. Even though THQ's financial troubles have forced them to drop the project, del Toro says that he hasn't given up and is working towards a release for the project:

"We are in talks with a very, very big company. I can't say who, but it's one of the big ones. They really responded to the game, they responded to what we were trying", he said.

"Some of the devices of the game I need to update, because now I've seen them in other games that just came out. That always happens. But the principle we're trying to do with the game is to make it a really immersive narrative experience. It's still a really challenging proposal."

Del Toro Insane

If I were a betting man I'd guess that the company he is referring to is likely to be Sony, simply because when someone says "very, very big company" it makes me think of one of the big three, and from those I think Sony have shown themselves to be the most amenable to games with "immersive narrative experience" (see, for example, Quantic Dream).

Whoever it ends up being we wish del Toro the best. Hopefully InSANE can be successful enough to warrant some more games from him. I for one would love a Pacific Rim "giant robots killing sea monsters" video game.

Let us know in the comments what gaming company you think he's referring to.

I hope it isn't Sony, this game is doomed if it's a PS exclusive.

This was supposed to be a 360 exclusive, then he signed with THQ as a publisher...which opened up other possibilities.

As long as this thing comes out and it is good, i'll be a happy camper. If its on Xbox and MS published, good chance of a PC build too.

I bet it's EA. Out of all the "big ones," they seem the most willing to take chances on new IP's this gen and have had pretty great success. Dead Space, Mirror's Edge, Rock Band, Kingdoms of Amalur... and they were the ones that picked up Brutal Legend after it was dumped by Activision.

That would work for me, so long as they release on PC (which would be a given). Hopefully not Origin exclusive :/

Don't have hope for this one. Last time a director attached himself to a horror game we got Clive Barker's Jericho, and we all know how that turned out.

But there was also Clive Barker's Undying, which people say was awesome.

If you think that's bad, try the Alfred Hitchcock game on 3DO. *Shudders*

It was. Much better than Jericho anyway.
