so I take it this game is really that good? I looked for a demo but couldnt find one.

In reply to an earlier post on Mar 16, 2012, 8:40:12 AM PDT
There isn't a demo. The last thatgamecompany game (Flower) got a demo but the demo didn't come out until the game had been out for a long time.

I agree. 5 out of 5 stars my ass. Everyones saying how amazing this game is, all ive seen is a creature walking in a desert. I dont see whats so amazing about it, it looks pretty boring to me. A friend bought it and he said you basically just get to the top of the mountain and thats it and that the game can be beaten within a few hours. This game is about as amazing as the pile of crap game Afrika that was released a couple years ago. I played an integration of Journey in the promo space they released on the Playstation Home app and guess what, all you do is walk around in a desert and interact with what looks like gravestones.

I downloaded this at around midnight... I told myself I was gonna check it out real quick for like 10 minutes then go to bed... It is now 2am. That was well worth the $15 I paid.

Love their songs! Oh, wait, I think I'm on the wrong forum. Okay, love the game!

For me personally, Journey was an experience more than a game and whoever say games are not art, they should play this game.

I would have pretended you had played the game for somewhat better trolling.

Too much walking, not enough shooting.

Not enough walking.

It was really damned good. Simple and powerful. If you didn't like it you need to shut out all distractions and give it your full attention. It's a game that demands immersion.

Anyone who doesn't like it are just FPS fanboys.. "Oh it's sooo boring, because you're not blowing people's heads off."

Yeah, chalk me up as another one who doesn't see what the big deal is. I bought it because this dude I watch on youtube was completely gushing over it, and saying it even tops Ico and is the best game of the generation. So I went ahead and downloaded it, and at first I was pretty impressed with the visuals and the unique multiplayer aspect. So I was quite ready for this game to blow me away just like it apparently had everybody else, and began preparing for something completely epic and emotionally enthralling... and then it became clear -- very, very quickly -- that there really wasn't much of a game here, to be honest. And what gameplay it did have, a good deal of it was just recycled elements from Flower. Basically surfing and flying through a lot of pretty-looking set pieces. Then two seconds later... it was over. Really???

Buy Flower instead. It's a lot longer, for starters. It's also at a discount price now. And as far as utterly non-challenging, surfing-through-pretty-environments games goes, Flower did it better. It had more of a message to it and a better ability of acheiving an emotional connection. It's like the video game equivalent of a relaxing stress ball. It has that majestic quality to it, that it'll infect you with teh hippie and make you think, "screw video games, I wanna go outside".

Journey made me feel absolutely nothing and was only an hour and a half long. It's not worth $15. So if you're on the fence and you're reading this, don't buy into the hype and don't say I didn't warn you.

I thought Flow and Flower sucked but this game looks pretty good. I'm hoping I'll have the time to play it over the weekend.

Those games suck. I'm playing Mass Effect 3.
