I can see Beck's city plan now:

"2 Turn tables and a microphone in all buildings..."

Jacob Dyer says:
They will study things like the effects of prayer on healing people and trying to prove that indians really are the lost tribe of israel.

I thought that was called a Klan.

It wasn't a misspelling, it was obviously a typo.

Oops. I sometimes make spelling mistakes, don't act like you've never made them. Get over yourself.

Because he wasn't meaning to spell Utopia. An Utopa is a very specific form of conservative commune.

Hell, they started us on the pledge early and I had no idea what half those words meant.

How are we on page 2 and no one has viciously mocked the OP for misspelling utopia? VGF, it's like I don't even know you anymore.

By deprogram, they, of course, mean reprogram.

Every child is conditioned to believe all sorts of outlandish things, from government, religion, to parents. Do they still make kids say the pledge of allegiance in elementary school? I had said that thing hundreds of times without question as a kid.

Kr155 says:
lol send us your kids every summer so we can deprogram em? Doesn't that sound alittle too close to Hitler youth? i mean taking children and programing them with thier ideals?

The Mormon community is still pretty thick out there, and many of the ones I've met from that neck of the woods are pretty proud of the town's history. *shrug*

Meth Panther says:
I envision this community kind of like Gathering of the Juggalos, in that while the patrons are there, everywhere else is a little better off.

"There's not going to be [an income] Gap here."

You're right, that does sound like communism.

Joseph Smith got run out of Missouri with a lynch mob on his tails. Why a Mormon would name their city after it is beyond me...

GUEST!! says:
I suspect that since he's Mormon he's going for the obvious allusion specifically to your town as a Mormon outpost.

Edit: I wasn't being negative against Mormons. That is literally the history of Independence Missouri, and why I suspect he's naming this little colony of his Independence.
