We are both making assumptions here. I'm just grabbing at the first thought I have as to why someone would do this and think it would be ok.

Note: I'm not saying this is ok, I'm saying this is why a crazy gunman might this it was ok

Apparently he went to the principal's office where they were having a meeting and shot him and 2 others including the vice principal. The VP crawled back into the room after being shot while the shooter moved through the building killing kids and adults. Kids were age 5-10, K-4. Shooter at one point had kids trapped inside a kindergarten room and was eventually "killed". I'm assuming he did not commit suicide and instead was shot by a first responder? I can't find information on that yet.

He had 2 guns, one being a .223 rifle. Fired over 100 shots.

No i understand not jumpiing down your throat or nothing.

This is horrible i mean I have no idea how anyone could walk into a school of kids that young and open fire with weapons. Ever since i had my daughter 3 years ago seeing these kinds of strories hurts even more when I look at my daughter and pray nothing like that ever happens.

5-10 Geez and its probably much better that he is dead i could not even imagine a courtroom scene and he would have never stayed a live in jail

Cinema Fan says:
So can you gun lovers now honestly sit here and say it's ok to own mutiple weapons, because it's "your right"

THERE IS NO BUSINESS FOR THESE TYPES OF WEAPONS TO BE IN THE HANDS OF CIVILIANS. PERIOD.

That's it, everyone turns in their guns and gets muzzleloaders instead, lets see how many 5 year old's you can kill when reloading takes you a minute per shot. I am really angry right now.

The weapons used weren't automatic...

Guns might be "eaiser" to use to kill with, but I imagine they could still use sharp objects or blunt objects to do their killings. Maybe even poisons.

PacinoBully says:
I hope this guy left some type of note on why he did this. Otherwise it will drive me nuts on what could make a guy do this. This is one of the main reasons why I didn't take a job in a public school and choose a different career path. This is also why I'm questioning whether I want to raise a child in this world.

like the 22 kids injured by the knife-wielding madman in China this morning.

However, I don't believe there were any deaths in that case, or if there were they didn't report on them.

I'm just saying "where there is a will, there is a way". If these fools really wanted to kill or harm people, they would have done it with or without guns.

Lets be thankful they didn't... didn't use high powered explosives.

It's China, they probably reported 22 hurt, but there were 82 killed.

WesCyde . says:
Yah its tough to imagine how anyone can do this, from what i heard they are still looking for someone too possibly in a car with a blown out back window.

I am so fearful for my daughter to have to worry about this. Its kind of sad when you think about the schools i grew up in Los angles were so bad, and then these things happen in places you would not expect

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 14, 2012, 11:04:35 AM PST
That being said, it's much easier to stop a person with a knife than an AR-15.

I am not anti-gun BTW, but I am a little angry right now.
