I ask this because now that most major retailers are opening between 8 pm and 9 pm on Thanksgiving Day, most people will probably be finished shop 1-2 am on Friday morning. I experienced this last Black Friday at Target when we opened at 12 am Friday morning and the crowds slowed down by 3-4 am. Soon it seems that retailers will just be open all day Thanksgiving.
How I think about retailers opening Thanksgiving is divided. It's cool in one aspect because I know most people who work at these major retailers don't get paid much money and will be getting time and a half pay which will help them out. On the other hand, I think that this is taking away the tradition of spending Thanksgiving with their families. Having to decide if they want to make some much needed money or spend time with their families can be a hard decision.
