- The ultimate game console. The new Apple TV will be a direct assault on the game console industry, with a living room platform that should leave Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony running scared. With a single launch, Apple will extend the iOS gaming distribution ecosystem into the living room and invent new categories of gaming through the interaction of iOS devices with Apple TV.

It's amazing how powerful the Apple Kool-Aid is. This dude obviously drank too much of it.

And what is it with people thinking that an iOS game is completely equivalent to Skyrim, ME3 or anything on consoles? Have they actually PLAYED video games!?

I can't even get a controller to use with iOS games, and Apple TV is supposed to be the end all be all of gaming?

I was going to get Apple TV, then I realized that my Roku could do the same thing for 1/2 the price.

Heh. According to a Nielsen poll, Apple TV is the second least desired piece of hardware this holiday season. The only thing that ranked below it was Microsoft's SmartGlass.

Also, this strikes me as hilarious because Apple doesn't even do Flash.

Also, these won't be "new" interactions. I'm pretty sure this is a thing the Wii-U already does.

This time they put more effort into upgrading their Hype spec.

I hate these type of articles. The reason iOS games sell so well is that they are priced extremely low and available on an object that almost everyone owns(a cellphone). Oh boy is this thing going to be a game changer!

A customer says:
The same thing with an actual decent remote.

My Roku XS is nice, it's simple, it's fast, etc. I setup my sisters Apple TV and the OS was a disaster - the remote made it even worse.

For gamers? Hell no. Financially? Definitely.
