I have both, a 360 and PS3. We all know that PS+ is not free, but it is one hell of a deal. $50 for a year, after a few months you have forgotten about the $50 and the games keep coming. So after a while the games do "feel" like they are free. I guess that is the one argument I have with the netflix analogy. You are constantly reminded (monthly bill) that you are paying for this service. If it was a one time fee per year, after a while you wouldn't think about the cost as much. Just my opinion.

my ps+ expired over the summer, and all the free games i downloaded are still in my games folder. i guess i should try and play one, but i figured they would just disapear with PS+ for me.

Funny you should ask, Capt. I was just getting ready to create a 'Thank you Capt!' thread. Yep, I took the PBS to Boldwin and made a +5 Sharp Estoc for my plat.

Thanks again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's also funny you dropped the +5 Crescent Falchion for my DMS weapon...I was carrying a +4 Crescent Falchion at the time!

When I signed in last night I kept trying to put down my white stone and was scratching my head thinking, "Why isn't this working?"

Then a blue sign popped up next to me and I facepalmed.

They don't disappear you just can't access them.

J. Pardee says:
The games won't automatically disappear but you won't be able to play them because they would still have the PS+ timer on them so they wouldn't work.

Xbots are just sad that they don't get free games on XBL. I love my PS+ with all my free games!

There is no such thing as "too much Dark Souls." I got 1000/1000 and then went out and bought the PS3 version to plat that.

Why do non-ps3 owners care what PSN+ costs?

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 21, 2012, 6:14:35 AM PST
The Drizzle says:
that makes sense. i figured that was the case, i just havent even bothered to play any of the free games.

The Drizzle says:
i did it for a year and didnt renew. the free games are nice, but i dont really play much of them. i really did it for the NHL center ice, so i can watch the games on ps3 (still have to pay for the package through NHL.COM). the quality is better on the ps3 than getting the comcast package.

no nhl yet this season, so i havent had to renew.

That's what I did, too, Fox. Now I'm just trying to see how high a SL I can get to.

PS+ "free" games are better than paying $30-50 for "free" network play over Live. I went there and I have no regrets!

Ice King says:
Even if they aren't technically free, the service has already paid for itself in my opinion. Last night I downloaded Uncharted, Gravity Rush, and Jet Grind Radio (or it Jet Set Radio? I always forget) for the Vita for "free". It would have cost me almost $100 if I had paid for them individually so even if there aren't any more games I want on Plus it will have been worth it.

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 21, 2012, 6:42:54 AM PST
Jet Set Radio.

And in reality most of the games that are free, you won't be playing them for more than a month on average, let alone a year. So even if your PS+ expires and you don't wish to continue it you certainly got your monies worth.

Plus the discounts.

Ice King says:
There's that too. My Plus membership will expire in October and I'm sure I'll be done with any games I get up until Agust 2013 by that point so losing access to them won't really bother me.

I subscribe to both XBox Live and Playstation Plus, and in my experience Plus is a much better value. Those "free" games are a great deal.
To be honest, I don't even know why I keep Live. I rarely play games online and I don't think there are any other incentives. I'm mostly just renewing out of habit, and even then I make sure to wait for a sale on 12 months.

B. Partridge says:
PS+ has saved me so much money over the year with all the free games and discounts they offer. Plus I get to play a lot of games I never thought about buying/playing before. My only complaint is that I have to many free games that I still need to beat, and that's a good thing. I'll gladly pay another 50 bucks a year. I spend about 15 bucks a week just by buying coffee, PS+ seems cheap compared to that.
