the thread about "Auteur"'s really had me thinking about the Indie game documentary that I watched last weekend. Pretty amazing stuff what two people go through to create a game.

What is everyone's favorite indie game?

Mine right now would have to be Super Meat Boy - I love the story behind it and the story about the developers.

SPAZ. Sad to say that I am late to the game with this one, but one of my friends recently gifted it to me on Steam. So much fun!

Favorite Indies game ever or of this year?

For this year I am really loving Faster Than Light. I even put Hotline Miami on the backburner to work on FTL.

Spaz is fun, I enjoyed it as well. There a few more indie games I have that I like alot but can't remember off the top of my head. When I get home I'll have to post them.

If you like fps for the PC look into natural selection 2. I have issues not playing the damn game.

Based on the movie Fez is easily my favorite, not really sure how many other "indie" games I've played.

Journey and Braid are my two favorites.

FTL, Hotline Miami, Dungeon Defenders and Super Meat Boy are close.

Machinarium - love the aesthetics, atmosphere, puzzles, etc. etc. etc.

Others high on my list - Braid, Journey, Pixeljunk Eden.

Don't think I've played any of these. Does World of Goo count? I liked that.

Heh, I liked the aesthetics of Botanicula more than Machinarium. Not saying you're wrong by any means, it's just interesting what two different people will take away from the same games.

I love them both.

I loved those aesthetics, too! Machinarium was just a much better overall package to me.

I didn't like Limbo.

It's definitely an interesting concept, but the gameplay is lacking... something... can't quite put my finger on it yet.

The puzzles are actually fun to try and figure out.
