I can't help but laugh at somebody having "pedophobia" and becoming a school teacher..... any whoo, teachers get moved around all the time. It is part of their job. My mother in law is a teacher, she has been moved a few times to different positions and needed by the district. :)

That's like someone with a severe fear of falling holding the job of stuntman. Looks like it's time to look at another career. In no way should the job be held responsible for the teachers phobia. I swear that people need to start taking responsibility for their choices instead of blaming others for their own failings.

It's only appropriate since students everywhere have didaskaleinophobia.

Edit: Wow, talk about a self-fulfilling fear. Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia

it's not any wierder than the pharmacists refusing to give out birth control for religous reasons.

In reply to an earlier post on Jan 15, 2013, 1:03:43 PM PST
Yeah, well I have a problem with that. A pharmacist can either hand out drugs/meds without a bible lesson or get a new job, IMHO. No offense. :)

yeah that was kinda my point in bringing it up

Fair enough, excellent point. :)

WesCyde . says:
IDK if you went into teaching with the intention to teach High school because you knew you had a fear of young children i could see how this is an issue if she is moved to that age group which she has the phobia.

Huh, that's an interesting perspective. I didn't consider that point before.

I see your point but disagree. Teachers get moved around, much like any other job. If I have a fear of snow and my company relocates to Michigan, I can't do much about it. Getting moved around within a job is normal and acceptable. Many teachers get moved at some point in time, including switching grades. Nobody has a job description that is legally set is stone. If somebody can't deal with a job description change, that is legally on them. :)

That or make sure you go to school districts that only have highschools. in much of the suburban chicago area, the grade schools and highschools are different school districts. the school districts will only shuffle you between schools within their own district. it's not like they will trade you to some other school district, you'll get laid off if they have nowhere to put you whithin their district.

That's a weird phobia. I wonder if she was not able to look at herself in the mirror as a child.
