thanks, that's what I figured from the silence. Nice to know for sure though.

Seriously though, I love the Wii U. No, it's not perfect and there's room for improvement, but so far it's pretty cool.

I got two of them. One for me and one for my daughter. I am still waiting for Zagg to put out a shield for the game pad.

Loving it just wishing they add more support for the control feature in the touch controller. Its pretty nice controlling my tv with it but cant control my surround sound :( Also, im really considering going all digital with it. Started with Super Mario Bros. U

I love it, though I love the Wii.... and I love the 360, ps3, ps2, ps1, Genesis, Dreamcast, xbox, NES, SNES, GC, N64.... wtf is wrong with me? Apparently I just love videogames regardless of manufacturer! :)

Seriously though, the U is pretty frickin sweet, IMHO. I am enjoying it quite a bit. :)

I love the Wii U. Like Garion said it's not perfect but none of the consoles are. I just miss trophies and would like a few RPG's someday soon.

The Wii-U has been quite the pleasant surprise in that almost everything I thought wouldn't interest me has captured my attention completely. First the Miiverse is one of the coolest things I've seen on a gaming console in quite some time. Something so simple yet provides so much entertainment. I can waste hours going through communities answering questions, checking out art, and just seeing what others are up to. I thought this wouldn't appeal to me in the least and yet I'm constantly on there. In fact when friends are over often we have the Wii-U up on the home screen just to see what kind of art pops up. Nintendo definitely hit a homerun with the Miiverse.

The other big surprise has been Nintendoland. This thing sat in the shrink wrap for a good week after I got my Wii-U Deluxe and one day my buddy bugged me into popping it in. What greeted us was not only incredibly fun but also rather challenging. I wasn't expecting such a challenge from a simple collection of mini-games yet this package provides quite a bit. Metroid and Zelda have been some of my favorites to play thus far though others like Yoshi's Fruit Kart and Donkey Kong Challenge are definitely up there as well. These are simple to pick up and understand yet incredibly challenging to master. Zelda is one of the best multiplayer experiences I've had in some time and when you start getting three or more people involved it becomes a real treat. Whether I'm playing with my friends who are all around the same skill level as me or a buddy and his girl Nintendoland provides a high level of entertainment that you just can't argue against. Seriously if you play this and hate it then you must hate fun.

Not only that but these games really get you involved when it comes to multiplayer. Mario Chase is great in my opinion and provides some excellent competitive/co-op play. It's been quite some time since my buddies and I got this worked up over a game yet we're cheering, high fiving, and even getting the smack talk going as we take each other down or manage to dodge all the other players. I didn't think Nintendoland would be much more than glorified Wii Sports yet I couldn't have been more wrong. Even by myself games like Metroid Blast are a ton of fun and provide a ton of challenge. Pikmin Adventure is another one which caught me off guard in how much it brings to the table. Definitely glad I have this in my collection and it will continue to see a ton of play.

New Super Mario Bros. U has been another treat to play through. Not only does it provide a nice level of challenge but it is nice to see some awesome level design worked into the game. Where past New Super Mario Bros. titles have felt a little uninspired this one really delivers and brings back that classic Super Mario World feel. Paths branch over the world map, levels provide plenty of challenge, and even though the game gives out 1-ups like they were AOL disks you still find yourself feeling the pressure from the game. More than once I got the Luigi help box to pop up and on a few stages I ran out of time because I was trying to piece together how to get access to everything. This is coming from someone who managed to 100% Super Mario 3D Land inside of a week as well.

The Wii-U isn't perfect but it does a bunch of things right leading me to believe it has a bright future ahead of it. It's definitely not for everyone but I'm going to enjoy it and whatever Nintendo has up their sleeves I can't wait to see.

In theory, yes.

Kinda like soccer.

I love the Wii-U as well. Not because of the games, but I like how it was designed and look forward to what it can do.

it has room to grow on a few things as well, not perfect.

Bad reception under the bridge these days?

They just did such a horrible job of advertising this thing. They make it seem like the gamepad is the only new thing about the console and it even is the first thing you see on the box. Many people just take this as an add on to the Wii console and don't know that this is an entirely new machine. I actually thought this myself for several months after it was announced. Horrible naming, horrible advertising, and in return horrible demand.

In reply to an earlier post on Dec 13, 2012, 5:56:31 AM PST
I don't think there was a horrible demand, they are selling well here.

Just because you didn't make any money on your scalping doesn't mean it's the Wii U's fault.

Seriously, no TV commercials, no radio talk, no advertisement via the web. I have no idea what is out or what. If it wasn't for me being on these forums or going into gamestop seeing "WII U NOW IN STOCK" in big font, I would have no idea it was even out yet.

They only had 2 exclusive games to potentially market it with, one that would scare off the casual/soccer mom buyer , what else could they have really done to market it? It IS all about the gamepad.

Just Dance 4 it is.

I've seen advertisements on the Web here and there. I don't have TV so I can't attest to commercials, same with Radio, i don't listen to that.

If there are no TV commercials I do find that a bit odd, perhaps your watching the wrong channels.
