I love the precision of mouse aiming but I never really liked using WASD to move around. Is there anything like a Wii nunchuck to use for moving and strafing in PC games but also allows for mouse aiming?

WASD is extremely clunky.

Actually I'm pretty sure there is. Alternatively, use Xpadder or that other key rebinder and use the left half of a gamepad.

Only if you haven't been used to it for a decade or more.

I prefer WASD to a joystick most of the time.

Nope.

Well, I guess Capt K's method would work.

Just connect the 360 control to the computer. 'nuf said.

A. Iso says:
We should make a mod for that. I guess you could get a flight stick type thing for movement.

You can use the Razer Nostromo but you'd still be using keys instead of an analog.

No question.

I love keyboard and mouse for most games. Third person shooters and platformers not so much, however.

I use WASD for older FPS games but modern games are made with a controller in mind and ballanced for that. Using WASD for most those games just doesn't feel right.

Playstation Move Navigation Controller in combination with Motion in Joy will get you exactly what you want. I've tested it out on a couple games myself. It works.

Not sure. WASD for some games (especially those with significant platforming segments) can be annoying. I know some people use ESDF.

I hear ESDF is awesome, but I'm frankly too lazy to reconfigure for every game I play.

Why is ESDF better than WASD? Does moving your hand about a half an inch to the right make a big difference?

In reply to an earlier post on Nov 6, 2012, 3:45:03 PM PST
For some people, yes. It is more comfortable when reaching for the other keys commonly used in PC games, such as Ctrl, Alt, Space, and Shift.

Here's a project for you.

Find the W, A, S, and D keys on your standard Qwerty keyboard of choice. Note their relative position to each other. Can you figure out what this arrangement makes them useful for?

Hint: Assume "right handed" and "using a mouse".
