I completed Max Payne 3 on Monday and I loved it all the way from start to finish.

Max is a complete bullet-soaking badass. His quips about being old and mentally f'ed up while downing pain killers with scotch never got old. He makes Sao Paulo his personal toilet and gets called "filho de puta" a bajillion times while slowing down time and obliterating eight enemies within a split second.

Loved the cut-scenes (tons of them, I know), the gameplay, the dialogue/voice-acting, graphics. Short, but amazing game.

It's about a 6 to me. No replay value.

One of the best third person shooters this generation. In the same league as the Uncharted series, Gears series, Dead Space series, and Vanquish.

Way too many intrusive unskippable cutscenes but besides that it's a pretty good game.

I'm going to to a replay when we have a snow storm and I need something different than frozen landscapes. It's supposed hit zero this weekend and a snow storm is on the way. Maybe it's time.

I loved the first Max Payne and this one didn't seem like a game from the same series. I hated it!

The unskippable, constant, nauseating cutscenes make it a one & done game.

It's okay when you actually get to play it, but it's no Max 1 or 2.

I loved it. No regenerating health, great music and presentation, bullet time, solid gameplay, fun game.

Potentially.

The music during the airport sequence felt perfect. Loved that.

Yikes. Thats brutal. We got hammered during Christmas but I wasnt here. Its just now warm and sunny enough to start melting all the snow. South of me, they got about a foot of snow.

It had more cutscenes than gameplay.

I think that was my favorite level - running through the terminals.

And to the cutscene haters: the unskippable parts were hiding the load screens. I'd rather use that time to take care of some storytelling than look at a blank screen.

Then why did they have to make them so awful? They were like Kane & Lynch 2's cutscenes on roids.

I found Mass Effect's elevator's less offensive.

No.

@Soulshine
Precisely. My favorite part was how well they covered up the load screens. I mean, for someone like me who plays a game once and never skips cutscenes, it was like a game with non-existent loadtimes. That's great.

Soulshine says:
I didn't think they were awful. And once the section is finished loading, you can still skip most parts. I haven't tried that Arcade mode - does that just give you the straight-up levels or cutscenes too?

Sure did. It made Heavy Rain feel like a real game.

The rate of fire seemed a little off. It's the details, Rockstar.

NYM minute mode was addicting and awesome and added replay value for me. I liked the game got a sick trade in deal on it but will most likely repurchase it at some point. I didnt like the MP at all though
