The Pokémon Character Maker is a neat variation on the traditional Play-Doh modeling machine. Instead of extruding Play-Doh in a continuous shape stream, this machine uses a series of molds, which slide into a slot on top, to create your favorite Pokémon characters. Fill with Play-Doh, press the mold handle, and out come likenesses of Pikachu, Clefairy, Squirtle, Psyduck, and Jigglypuff. The bright red press is 7.5 by 3 by 4.5 inches. Also included are three small pots of Play-Doh in red, green, and yellow; a plastic modeling knife; and five clear plastic character molds. --Richard Farr

I bought this last year for my then 4 year old son. He just loved it as he was just getting into Pokemon. My then 2 year old daughter kept watching him and now she also loves playing with it. My nephew, who lives in NJ, always would ask to play with it when he came to visit so I just bought him one. The only thing that I don't like too much about it is that the playdough falls thru, hardens and is hard to get out of the bottom. I don't find it very educational but very recreational. It seems all the kids love to play with it and it will keep them busy for awhile.
