I was tempted to plug one hole before even trying this for the first time but followed the directions in the email that I received after purchasing the cone first and it does work. Too coarse a grind will speed up the drip, too. Only if it was a wide mouth Thermos. There are two holes that let coffee drip down and they are about 2 finger widths apart. I don't have a ruler handy but I would put the distance at about 1 3/4 inches. I use this filter in my camper for the space savings.

Yes. Using a pour-over method, I brew 28 grams of coffee using 415 grams of water. This equates to about 2 cups of coffee. Just pour more water over the grounds as space allows.

I bought it and it worked well, but not as you described. It only made 1 cup then I needed to duplicate the effort for another cup and another etc., using many filters, measuring coffee and waiting for this thing to drip, drip and drip. Instead of using this anymore I backpack with "Foldergs Coffee bags" (Wal Mart) tha… see more I bought it and it worked well, but not as you described. Instead of using this anymore I backpack with "Foldergs Coffee bags" (Wal Mart) that are like tea-bags. No need for this, coffee or filters now. Saves space, and everybody gets coffee at once using those coffee bags in their cup. I use 2 bags per mug cuz I like my coffee strong.
