It works for a maxi dress. I just folded it several times, using the folding board that is included. This size works well for my flouncy blouses too

If the goal is to avoid wrinkling, and you're checking your luggage anyway, the only thing I've been successful with is a shirt box with tissue and/or light plastic laundry bags to lightly hold the folded, but not compressed, items in place. Never used specter - my current eagle still looks new, is very light weight, so no need to try a different brand. Yes, 5 folded blouses will easily fit. This size fits nicely into 20 inch carry-on suitcases.
