Even if you only have a single charger, say for your phone, the Kindle will only need it very occasionally so it is unlikely to interfere with using it with the other device. It also charges at full speed when plugged into a desktop or laptop PC. By the time you tally up the cost of the charger itself and the attendant expenses on additional packaging materials and labor to pack them, you're talking about saving $4-5, a consideration much more likely to be of interest to prospective buyers than having one more brick sitting unused in a drawer somewhere.

The screen is very readable in direct sunlight, with or without sunglasses. It transitions extremely well from bright sunlight to indoor light to dark as well. This is a very great product in that way! Hope this helps!

No, light from my Kindle doesn't keep me awake. I always read before bedtime each night, infact I was a guest at my daughters over Thanksgiving. All the lights were out and I could read with my kindle until I went to sleep disturbing no one.
