Hello, yes I’ve been having a Brita Bottle since March 2021 & the best thing to do is unscrew the top part from the bottle, take the tube off & get a Cotten swab ( that you use for your ear ) & stick it inside the mouth piece & clean around the edges that these black like thing is at, repeat the process till it’s gone … see more Hello, yes I’ve been having a Brita Bottle since March 2021 & the best thing to do is unscrew the top part from the bottle, take the tube off & get a Cotten swab ( that you use for your ear ) & stick it inside the mouth piece & clean around the edges that these black like thing is at, repeat the process till it’s gone & rinse it with warm water & then boom, your mouth piece is back to normal.

If there is still some odd stains or something, it’s best to buy a brand new one & always make sure to clean it with a napkin every few days ( the mouth piece ) & don’t be afraid to change the filter, the filters here on Amazon are only $9.99 for a pack of 3. I finished a filter in a month, because of how much water I drink. I contacted Brita and they DO NOT sell replacement lids or mouthpieces. Very disappointing.
