Yes it is. A lever in the back, you push ju and the head swivels up

Kitchenaid attachments will not work. The place where the attachments fit onto the mixer has two rods instead of one, and they are smaller in diameter than the rod on my Kitchenaid. Not sure about other brands of attachments, but I doubt they will work.
