If you need to fill in small, engraved areas in metal or acrylic, this is the paint stick to get. It's so much easier than masking and painting, waiting for it to dry, and still having the possibility of the paint rubbing off or cracking in the future. I used Lacquer-Stik on professionally engraved aluminum front-panels, from Front Panel Express and laser-etched acrylic from Ponoko. Using Lacquer-Stik results in bold, beautiful engravings, that painting can't really give you.

My wife and I bought a lot of used furniture to furnish a new house. These have come in VERY handy to touch up the furniture and to make it look like new again. Even though at first glance you THINK that the furniture is all of the same color, when you start touching it up you find out that it isn't. So you need a lot of slightly different colors to match up the finish. The extra colors also lets you match the different color streaks that occur naturally in wood.

Seriously, after I touched up the furniture and filled in the scratches and dents, you can't tell that the furniture isn't new! Every home owner or furniture owner should have a set of these on hand.

This product works very well. I found that the best way to remove excess paint is to use rags made out of old smooth/flat bed sheets. Anything with texture will cause the paint that you want to stay in the grooves to smear. When using a rag made from an old bed sheet, pull it tightly over your fingertip, and then rub off the excess. I used this product on a control panel, and the improvement was remarkable!

Very disappointed! The description and even the instructions are misleading; the application process is messy and the end results are not good. On receipt, the stick (stik?) looks like a plastic pen but with no way to remove the cap. In fact, it is just a solid stick of dried paint. The label says "Remove the film from the tip." I could find no film so I searched YouTube and found a demo video. That showed that you have to cut a piece off the tip to expose the softer paint and then rub that exposed paint into the engraving that you want to fill.In this case, it was an aluminium medallion for my cat. After applying the ink, the whole surface was a black mess. I then followed the instructions for removing the surplus with mineral oil. The end result was not very good. I let it dry for 24h and then fitted it to the cat's collar where he promptly chewed most of the ink out of the engraving. He doesn't seem to have suffered any ill effects. I am now looking for an alternative type of filler.
