School's out for the summer, and stepbrothers Phineas and Ferb decide to make each day an adventure, from building a death-defying rollercoaster to surfing tidal waves to locating Frankenstein's brain. Meanwhile, the family's simple-minded pet platypus leads a double life as secret "Agent P" and faces off with the evil Dr. Doofenshmirtz to save the world.
Buyer beware. I just purchased Season 1 (13 episodes) for download from Amazon onto my Kindle device. Each season on Amazon shows 13 episodes. I wanted to stream these for free on Netflix, but we'll be on a very long car trip without WiFi, so decided to go ahead and purchase. But when I went to look on Netflix for the seasons / episodes to see if they were downloadable, I saw that Season 1 actually has 26 episodes, not 13. Season 2 on Netflix has 38 episodes. Again, the Amazon Season 2 only has 13 episodes, so for Season 2 you end up buying only 1/3 of what was originally broadcast. I feel this is very misleading on Amazon's part. There's nothing I can find in writing on Amazon that would indicate that you're not actually receiving the full seasons. What a disappointment.
This is an adorable show - I love watching it with my six year old. It's all about two kids who want to make the most of their summer vacation and are constantly inventing new things. Their sister is always trying to get them "busted" so that their mom will see the crazy inventions but for some reason mom never sees them and thinks the sister is a bit silly. The pet platypus is a secret agent fighting an evil scientist who makes things to take over the tri-state area. But his evil isn't scary like a lot of shows these days - it's silly. He makes things like shrink rays and stuff. My son has learned some neat vocabulary words from the science aspect of the show. Just a very cute program.
Adorable, fast-paced, funny, and perfectly clean. We're two mid-twenties adults and are enjoying this show far too much. ;)
Sure, it's repetitive. Every episode basically has the same plot structure and several other repeated elements. But within that framework, it's super creative - similar to the random stories my sister and I used to make up when we were little. Throw in some clever pop-culture references and lots of original songs (usually one per episode), and you've got a show that's fun for adults, too.
I love this series and use the show to fall asleep. I bought the first season on prime thinking that it was the complete 1st season with all the episode in season 1. There are 26 official episodes in the first season and prime offers half the episodes and callthe other half a second season. It’s really upsetting because I’d have to pay $40 for “2 seasons” even though it would technically only be one season.
This is top notch, well written stuff. I'm giving it 5 stars even though it's a touch below Loony Toons, Simpsons, South Park level of genius, but since it's meant for kids, it's a home run. Brilliant original songs, great highbrow yet hilarious throw-away lines that no child will appreciate the full genius of, and most importantly great writing.
Our 2 year old likes this show and we originally bought this to download onto our kindle fire to play while we were driving. Even after listening to it play multiple times its still an addictive show. A safe and friendly family style show for all ages, musical numbers and different episodes even had education points to them that are not massively pointed out but are subtle. It's very upbeat and positive. We've watched all of the seasons and haven't had any complaints. Downloading wasn't a problem and it played great, purchase of the item was also easy.
