HEAVY DUTY
Been looking for just this part for my heavy antenna.Update May 2021 installed June 2020.Several comments antenna won't completely screw in the mount; see my pictures for a clear view. Not all items screw completely in these units. Solve this with a lock washer. I used a SS Firestik Spring that has threads exposed. I tried several antenna parts, springs, quick disconnects with some completely screwed in this unit and others leave threads exposed. Got this mounted and had some small issues with the white insulator being thin and not much insulation material going into the mount hole. Part of the original insulator was broken and still attached/stuck to the base threads, this caused the material to be short for standard antenna mount. Not sure how well insulated the center conductor and ground, so I wrapped Teflon around the area most vulnerable to shorting. Just hope it works. Also, had to file in two grooved places for the PL-259('s) to fit flush for a proper fit. Otherwise there was a gap for possible arching. This is easy to fix with a small file. Once filed, the PL-259('s) fit flush. The entire white Teflon insulation from the factory both center around the bolt and the inside SO-239 has room for improvement.
