Got these lanterns for my hurricane preparation kit and to use for overnight camping. I got them today and tested and very happy with them. They are battery powered, which is what I wanted. I didn't want to worry about charging them. They are light weight and I love the handles. There is not an on/off switch but you simple pull up, revealing the bulb area and it auto turns on and to turn off, you close it again. So simple I believe my 5 year old nephew will have no issues using! 4 lanterns for $20 was a deal, don't sleep on it!!

Someone recommended this lantern to me for emergencies and I'm so thankful they did. I bought the 2-pack and put fresh batteries in, and put the 2 lanterns where I could easily find them in the dark. This turned out to be very useful when we had a long power outage yesterday!The only thing I don't like is that they are black. If they were white or yellow they might be a little easier to find in the dark. I put strips of yellow tape on them when I first got them. However, my house was so dark when the power went out last night I still couldn't see them even with yellow tape on them.
