4.0 out of 5 stars Like it a lot., December 23, 2013

I bought this to replace my old massage cushion (a different brand), which had broken. I like that this has a separate neck massage setting, and that you can move the neck massage balls up or down depending on your height. I'm only 5'2" so this is important for me. I use the shiatsu setting for the back. Some people say it's too hard but I like it and it does help my tight muscles. I wish there were a setting for moving the massager heads in closer to each other (I'm also really petite), which is why I gave this four stars instead of five, but I do like it a lot and would recommend it.

There's not much to say about adapter plugs, but these were exactly what we needed for our trip to Ireland. The order arrived as promised and very quickly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Author & Professional Canine Behavior Specialist Review, October 1, 2011
As a canine behavior specialist for over twenty years with a specialty in fear issues, I am always cautiously optimistic when a new product or tool becomes available that purports to help treat these issues. Having tested the Thundershirt with my clients' dogs for the last few years, I now feel confident in offering experience-based feedback.

Just as with any product, the Thundershirt may not work for every dog. But my training partner and I have seen much success with it, using it on clients' dogs. Ironically, we don't have many thunderstorms here in southern California, but we have used this body wrap for dogs who are nervous or reactive with new people coming in the home, dogs who seem to be afraid of the outdoor environment in general, dogs who are nervous in training classes, and dogs who are afraid of or fear-reactive toward other dogs, to name a few. We have used Thundershirts as an adjunct to behavior modification protocols to help put the dog at ease more quickly, and on their own, as in those rare thunderstorms or fireworks displays. Is it an instant, total turnaround? Sometimes it is! And sometimes it makes a subtle but definitely noticeable difference, which is still an amazing foot in the door when trying to work with a dog's fear issues.

The Thundershirt body wrap is reasonably priced, uses quality soft, stretchy material that molds to the dog's body comfortably, and is quick and easy to apply thanks to the Velcro closures. I recommend this product specifically in my two books about canine fear issues, Help for Your Fearful Dog: A Step-by-Step Guide to Helping Your Dog Conquer His Fears and Don't Leave Me! Step-by-Step Help for Your Dog's Separation Anxiety where I mention body wraps. I suggest you give it a try. You have nothing to lose, and you just might end up with a calmer dog.

5.0 out of 5 stars Laugh Out Loud Funny, January 20, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
There are very few books that have actually made me laugh out loud, and Dogged Pursuit is one of them. Robert Rodi has a fabulous, incisive, sometimes wonderfully snarky way of describing his adventures with Dusty, both in and out of the agility ring. As a canine behavior specialist who has plenty of dog experience but none in the agility arena, I was still able to follow Rodi's well-worded and interesting descriptions well enough to appreciate the trials and tribulations of agility competition; and of course, I could appreciate the frustrations experienced during the training. But throughout the journey, what shines through is the development of a true bond of love and trust between man and dog. Highly recommended.

1.0 out of 5 stars Unnecessary and Inhumane, March 5, 2010
There is no reason on earth for this product to exist. Regardless on where one stands on the use of shock collars, invisible fencing, etc., teaching a down-stay to a dog is not rocket science. With this product, the dog is shocked when he ventures away from the bed. This in and of itself is unnecessary and inhumane. But add to that the fact that dogs associate things that happen concurrently, and you've got the makings of much bigger problems than a faulty "stay." The dog could easily be looking at, let's say, your child when he gets shocked, thus associating the two. This can set up a dangerous dynamic. Even if the dog is not looking at a particular person when receiving an electronic correction, this type of punishment could easily create fear or aggression issues. PLEASE consider simply training your dog instead of taking this seemingly easy way out. Training a solid down-stay is NOT very difficult, and you won't be risking creating much bigger problems.

1.0 out of 5 stars You've got to be kidding, December 24, 2009
Wolfdogs, a.k.a. wolf hybrids, are NOT a "pet" for all but the most experienced dog owners, and they are never, EVER recommended in homes with small children. As someone who has worked with wolves and wolfdogs for the last 20 years, I am incredulous that anyone would write a book aimed at young children that encourages them to talk to their parents about getting a wolfdog! This is paramount to encouraging children to ask their parents to buy them a pet crocodile, or a leopard. Even with non-wolf-content dogs, statistics indicate that the majority of bites are inflicted on children, often on the child's face, due to their height. Children are also the ones wanting to wrestle with dogs and hug them, which can contribute to bites. Wolfdogs, on top of having twice the jaw pressure of a German Shepherd, have an extremely high prey drive. Children running, screaming, and falling down can absolutely be in danger. I am sure the author of this book was not aware of any of this before writing this book, as I cannot imagine that anyone would be so irresponsible. Please be aware that wolfdogs, while beautiful and possessing many attractive qualities, can be extremely dangerous around children.

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly Recommended!, March 25, 2009
I have owned this book for many years and refer back to it often. When Dr. Gerber calls this a complete guide, he's not kidding! It covers everything from homeopathy to acupuncture, flower essences to healing with color. And there is an excellent section on various types of hands-on healing. It is not written in a mystical manner, but backs up its claims by including experiments that have been done on each subject. I don't know that non-believers will be convinced, but I'm not sure that any book has that capability. For those with an open mind, I highly recommend delving into this book a topic at a time...chances are you'll end up reading the entire thing, and being fascinated as I was.
