Monoprice LED Video Camcorder Light with 140 Pieces LED and 960 Lumens Brightness
Monoprice LED Video Camcorder Light with 140 Pieces LED and 960 Lumens Brightness

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice but a bit overpriced, January 16, 2016
Got it from Monoprice clearing for 10 with free shipment. Very bright without bluish tint. Well made and designed (no sharp corners or wobbling), non-slip textured surface. Wanted to order 2 more but they were sold out. Guess you can get better lights for 60-70 but if you see those on sale, grab a couple.
Otherwise, more advanced YONGNUO LED Flash Video Light Studio Light YN140 for around 40 looks like a better deal

1.0 out of 5 stars Crushes with 4K or high bitrate 1080 60p/30p!, November 23, 2015
refuses to read 4K or even high bitrate 1080 60p files from Panasonic GH4. A message about disablinf Shadowing aqppears + current salls 40-60% off. Disabling shadowing doesn't help.

My old Sony Studio platinum that according to specs DOES NOT support 4K reads files w/o problems, they can be edited and saved as 1080 60p.

Update Dec 3, 2015: received email from CS today. Thanks Cyberlink but I am not interested in products that do not work and shady marketing practices! The problem is well documented in forums and it simply shouldn't be in v14 since 4K was supported from v13. And whatever was wrong in v14 should have been fixed and these patches incorporated in the trial version. It either hadn't been done or the trial version is deliberately crippled. The latter seems to be the case - the pop up "50% off" blinking banner cannot be disabled or removed. It is there all the time: Halloween spacial, Thanksgiving special, Xmas special and so on 24-7-356.

Good news - if you do want the program, download a trial version and get the full for 1/2 price all year round. No need to wait for sales

5.0 out of 5 stars Top notch, November 15, 2015
I normally don't like knives with metal handles (slippery, cold, heavy) but this one is different. Not heavy, perfectly balanced, grippy w/o any sharp edges. Came very sharp, serrations very functional, VERY SMOOTH opening and closure. I haven't experienced any issues mentioned by other reviewers. Lightweight, elegant (including the blade with rounded spine), functional. Got it here for 17 on sale.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great all-around. Unbeatable for the price!, October 25, 2015
Knife for getting work done, not just for looks. Sturdy - nothing flimsy, no play anywhere. Thick blade, strong drop point won't break off easily. Well balanced with the blade slightly heavier than the handle as it should be. A bit of heft helps to precise control of the movement.

Grip, grip, grip!!! Non-slip plastic handle + non-slip contoured rubber inlay + raised KERSHAW logo on the left side and "raised" pocket clip on the right. Three thumb grooves on the top and a finger slot at the bottom, all in the right places. Blade shape well suited for different tasks, very comfortable large "thumb groove".

Makes a serious statement w/o looking too agressive. You won't get a ton of 911 calls for using it to open a pack of AA batteries in a city park.

You can get it on sale for around $10!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product!!!, May 20, 2015

Must have for any traveling photog or paid gigs, you do want to know if the battery is failing BEFORE you put it in your camera. I've been using smart AA/AAA chargers since the original Maha amd my current La Crosses are worth of every penny. This Kastar has all the bacis functions except for explicit reconditionig, charges fast and the battery stays much cooler than in the original GH4 charger (the charger is getting hot instead but not too hot). Comes with everything you need to be mobile + USB port.

My first experience with Kastar CS was more that satisfactory. I was looking for replacement GH4 batteries on Amazon, found this package and ordered with a free budget shipment. 15min later I was hired for a week long off the grid assignment starting in 3 days. Emailed Kastar asking to change the shipment to priority meaning I would pay for it. They did it for free and 2 days later I am charging the batteries for the trip. Chapeau!

1.0 out of 5 stars Sudden and dramatic slowdown in write speed at < 2/3 of the capacity, March 16, 2015
Missed a GoldBox deal here, got with 20% off at BH. Have been using 2 Sony U1 class 10 16GB 94 read/40 write speed (brown label) w/o a problem in Panasonic GX7 and GH4 in burst mode. With RAW+Jpeg had to wait a bit for cameras to finish writing and be operational but it was manageable. Got Transcend 64 GB High Speed 10 UHS-3 Flash Memory Card 95/60 MB/s (TS64GSDU3) (www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00J3KA814/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) for GH4 - almost no lag in writing. Decided to get a better spec'd Sony (95/90 MB/s).

In GX7 there was no visible improvement in write speed. That was OK, since the camera might have been the limiting stage/ About half way through the card the writing speed suddenly dropped and after that continued to degrade. That was a a brand new card formatted in the camera! All SD cards show a gradual slowdown in writing at <2/3 of their capacity (camera spend more time looking for free clusters) but I've never experienced such sudden and dramatic slowdowns.

Will check on GH4, if I have time but as of now I can't recommend this card to anyone. Get the Transcend instead.

1.0 out of 5 stars waste of money, February 24, 2015

These cups are knock-offs made from rather rigid PVC instead of elastic silicone as the original (similar to http://www.amazon.com/Premium-Transparent-Silicone-Cupping-Chinese/dp/B00CB8S5W4/ref=pd_sim_hpc_8?ie=UTF8&refRID=11V5CJ5K9DER62RS67VR or http://www.ebay.com/itm/400839902902?_trksid=p2060778.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT) that work as advertized. They are hard to squeeze, create little suction that they loose, if you are trying to move them. Lotion hardly helps.

Many vendors sell the same or similar cups as silicone, pictures usually do not help to differentiate. When in doubt, get them directly from Amazon for easy return/exchange.

2.0 out of 5 stars Buggy, laggy, overpriced. Very good BW module, December 2, 2014
Good:
Browser as fast as they say, even with RAW dng and rw2 files. Excellent BW module (both converter and interface) - valuable addition to my NIK and Topaz Labs b&w converters. Looks like BW was written by a hi-end team!

Bad:
Clunky interface, functions several clicks away. Enhance uses +/- buttons instead of calibrated sliders, you never know where you are standing. Portraiture is a nightmare - lousy face recognition, laggy/clunky manual setup and refining. Doesn't recognize profiles. No easy way to reduce red blood vessels in the eyes. A lot of manual labor, takes the same time with better results in Photoshop.

Ugly:
Even with one file the Suite 9.0 constantly crushes in Win7 Ultra 64 w/o any recovery options for lost work (my comp runs Photoshop, CaptureOne, DXO LAbs raw converters + several viewers on multiple files at the same time w/o problems, so this not for the lack of power) Seems more stable as PS plugin, not 100% sure. Just released v9.0.1 might have improved stability. Hugely overpriced. Look elswhere if you need all in one solution.
