1.0 out of 5 stars This product should not be sold as an instrument -- it's simply a toy that looks like a playable Ukulele, April 13, 2016
I am not sure who "Oppenheim" is and why he/she would have awarded anything to Janod Ukulele, but it's definitely a product not deserving of any awards. Attempting to tune and retune this instrument eventually snapped the neck at the base. This product should not be sold as an instrument -- it's simply a toy that looks like a playable Ukulele. I should have read the reviews first, lesson learned.

2.0 out of 5 stars Too Infuriating For Most, August 31, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The second generation Nest Protect is one of the most infuriating devices I have inside the house. It has great features, seems to function for its intended purposes (although I have not personally tested the carbon monoxide detection capability). However, the reason the Nest deserves no more than two stars is that it is the ONLY device in my house that does not reconnect to wifi if it looses WiFi signal (like if there is a power outage, or any issue with the wireless router, etc). The only solution to this is to remove it from the Nest app, and re-add it (which involves climbing a ladder, unplugging the Nest Protect, scanning the code, reattaching, and then putting away the ladder). I cannot possibly recommend this product to anyone who is intending to incorporate it into the Nest App. Why can't the Nest Protect use the same wifi technology deployed in the Nest Thermostat (about 4 feet away from the Protect) that doesn't have any issues with WiFi?

5.0 out of 5 stars All Issues Resolved in New Version! | Perfect Example of "Rushing to Market", October 21, 2014
Update on replacement (brand new Ubbi Diaper Pail):
All the issues listed in my original review seem to have been resolved in the new version of the diaper pail. As a test, I overloaded a single plastic bag with used diapers and pulled it out fully expecting it to rip somewhere, but the bag came out with very little damage, and absolutely no holes. This bag would have been shredded with the old version of the pail. This is a solid 5-star product, provided you have the latest version.

On a side note, the customer service I received from Ubbi is officially "off the charts." I never expected to actually receive a response from support, let alone a replacement pail.

Original Review:
I have been living with this Ubbi Diaper Pail for more than 2.5 years, and I have been forced to deal with this product since it first came on the market. As an engineer, this product is a fine example of "rushing to market" with something that was clearly never tested prior to release.

Firstly, no matter what type of bag you use, it will be ripped to shreds when you are removing it. You can attempt to subvert the menacing teeth on the inside of the pail by double-bagging, tripple bagging, or using cloth, but in the end, the Ubbi Diaper Pail teeth WILL win the battle, and you will have poop on your floor. Whomever designed the inside of the pail, had no idea what they were doing. The inside wall is secured with sharp plastic hinges that protrude toward the bag. Epic design fail.

Secondly, after several months of use, you will start to notice significant rust, mold, and mildew build-up inside the pail. That is a result of moisture building up over many months of use trapped inside the "air-tight" container. Cleaning the inside with a bleach solution only delays the inevitable.

Lastly, and possibly most annoyingly, the rubber gasket that seals your dirty diapers inside eventually deteriorates and falls off the metal. Again, this was a poor decision on the designer, as the rubber gasket is not secured in place by *anything*, so every time the pail is opened while you struggle to remove the shredded tripple-bag of diapers, gravity peels it off.

In summary, this product should not have been sold until all these issues were resolved. Thoroughly disappointed.

Onite 2 x Dimmable GU10 LED Light Bulbs High Power Spotlight equivalent to 60W Halogen Bulb
Onite 2 x Dimmable GU10 LED Light Bulbs High Power Spotlight equivalent to 60W Halogen Bulb

4.0 out of 5 stars Works, but poorly designed, April 3, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have a lamp that takes 5 GU10 bulbs. The original incandescent bulbs burned out at different times, so I have been experimenting with different LED GU10 replacements. These bulbs work, but are about a quarter (1/4th) of an inch longer (from base to front) than other LEDs I already had in place. These bulbs also flickered visibly for the first two days of operation, but then stopped flickering and seem to be working well now. The lights that these bulbs emit is similar to my other higher-priced light bulbs -- it's not brighter, differently colored, nor weird in any way.

I will probably purchase these bulbs again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, Affordable, and Compact Bathtub, April 3, 2013

If space is at a premium, this collapsible bathtub is an excellent choice. Bathtub collapses to approximately 2 inches in depth, so storing this thing is not going to be a big problem. After several months of use, I haven't encountered any issues. Highly recommend this product!

4.0 out of 5 stars UPDATE: Great Product, with a quirk..., August 25, 2010
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
UPDATE: After a recommendation from S. Gall, the Forerunner 205 synchronizes with satellites very quickly if you set it down outside (instead of wearing on your wrist). Synchronization goes down from a debilitating 10-12 minutes to under a minute with this simple tip. Thank you!!!

Original Review:

The Forerunner 205 is an excellent piece of technology and has many positive qualities: It is light, comfortable, efficient (excellent battery life), feature-rich, and fairly accurate.

However, there is a glaring problem that is both confusing and annoying: It takes 12 minutes (this is not an exaggeration) to "synchronize" with the satellites every single time you power on the watch. My 205 has the most recent firmware, and I religiously check the web updater for newer firmware. When I power the watch on, I make sure to stand far away from buildings and away from tree cover. I live in Chicago, so it's hard to find a completely open corn field, but the best I can do is to stand in the open parking lot to accommodate my watch. As a result of this ridiculousness, if I want to use my watch, I have to spend at least 10 minutes waiting for it to "synchronize," which is a huge problem if I'm going on a short (3-4 mile) run before work.

Maybe I don't know enough about this issue, but I am pretty certain that the beauty of Geo-Synchronous satellites (like the ones used for GPS), is that they stay in the same spot in the sky. Why does my Garmin Forerunner 205 need to re-synchronize with them every time? If someone from Garmin wants to have a further discussion about this, I would gladly provide all the necessary details. Better yet, if someone from Garmin wants to come by and run with me one morning, the problem would become self-evident within 12 minutes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Delicious!, August 25, 2010

I am not 100% certain that they help on the longer runs, but the Gu Chomps certainly don't make anything worse. They are pleasantly non-sticky and non-disgusting, and provide enough energy to last a few miles (I suppose). They are also kind of fun to eat due to their Gummy Bear texture. Personally, I carry one pack with me on any run longer than 10 miles, and don't follow their "recommendation" of one Chomp per 10-15 minutes of exercise, and basically take one when I feel like it.
