I was just wondering if they have a good selection of shows? I wish I could see a listing of the shows they have available.

Yep, googled it, read all of the reviews on Amazon, etc. However, it doesn't list what shows they have. Some reviews say they have a great selection and others say there isn't a great selection. I was hoping to connect with someone with a subscription who could give me their opinion and I could ask them questions.

So, yes...I have done all of the above. I am not an idiot. So, you are telling me that you actually found a listing of the available shows, or are you just an idiot who is trying to stir up some trouble? My guess??? You know NOTHING.

From what the reviews say, you can get it on the Kindle Fire and it works. A few reviewers said that they couldn't get it to load. It is very appealing to me because the shows download and are watched from the device--not streamed. So, you don't have to have internet connection. We are going on vacation in the near future and thought it would be nice to have a few shows on there!

Thank Elleinad, I need to check that out. I like having them download to view at anytime/place.

I have been using this for a few days now and I like it.

There are about 200 shows and the ones I have looked at have a years worth of episodes. They have the CBS shows that are not on Hulu like the Big Bang theory. They also have some cable shows like Mad Men and Game of Thrones.

The way it works - you select the shows you want to record and they create a virtual DVR on their servers for you. It takes a couple of hours and then you should be able to start downloading the shows you have selected.

The interface is user friendly and lists the shows with a short synopsis and the original air date so you can watch them in order.

The only negative I have found is that it is not a very high quality picture. They have traded that for a smaller file size.

PJ, it is $8.99 for six months.

DroidTV Primetime

Edited June 29, 2013: Currently it is $8.99 for three months (but you get a lot more shows).

30 Rock
60 Minues
A Gifted Man
The Amazing Race
America's Got Talent
America's Next Top Model
American Chopper
American Dad
American Idol
Are You There, Chelsea?
Army Wives
The Bachelor
The Bachelorette
Being Human
Best Friends Forever
The Big Bang Theory
The Big C
The Biggest Loser
Blue Bloods
Bob's Burgers
Body of Proof
The Borgias

CSI: Miami
CSI: New York
Celebrity Apprentice
Charlie's Angels
The Chicago Code
The Cleveland Show
The Client List
The Closer
The Colbert Report
Common Law
Cougar Town

I noticed that they have True Blood and Veep, which would typically require a subscription to a premium channel.

I'm just trying it for the first time based on this thread...thanks, Elleinad, for the heads-up.

looks good - I just bought the app but I am at work without wi-fi, so I cant download it yet. does it work like the "Amazon cloud" - my purchases are in my account and can be downloaded to whichever device I am using?? that seems too good to be true, but I can hope:) I may just download it to my daughter's Lenovo and not my fire.

I signed up for Droid TV as well, and I also noticed True Blood on the list. I have an HBO subscription, and I also can watch them on the HBOGO app, but i downloaded the first 2 episodes with DroidTV, and it never asked me to sign in or authenticate anything as far as my HBO subscription is concerned.

I selected several other shows, and they downloaded fine as well, and played flawlessly. Its a good option to watch the shows you normally do contained in the list.

I tested it on my Fire today...I'll play around with it more, but I did like it.

It took a few minutes to download the TV Guide: no surprise, that's like Tivo the first time.

After I made some selections, it was probably an hour before they were downloaded, but the interface was very simple.

Playing a half hour show took about 14% of my battery charge. That half hour show was also about 112 MB.

I got the app and picked some shows to download last night, I will watch a couple while doing a double shift at work today:) seems to have taken a long time for a couple hours worth of shows to download, but that isnt really a problem. I have a couple hours worth of shows on my phone and a couple hours on my Fire - so I should be set for the long work night!

Since this thread has zombied, one additional comment: be aware of the amount of memory the downloaded shows use. Remove the ones from the device that you are done can choose to download them again later, if you want to do that.

if I'm not mistaken when I first found droidtv on my droidx a year or so ago, you could download the app and see the listings. still watching on my bionic. I'm very picky what I watch, and I still find enough non- political stuff to watch.
