The Potek 1000A Jump Starter worked flawlessly . . . until it didn't!
Emergency equipment like jump starters (w/ air compressors) are well worth the investment. That said, these are very low use items. As long as they are periodically maintained, one would expect them to work during those rare occasions when you need them the most. I purchased this particular jump starter about 17 months ago and it saved my butt twice and saved other peoples' butts many times more. I'm awaiting feedback from Potek's to see if they will honor their 18 month warranty policy.
The folks at Potek immediately replied to my request to submit a warranty claim. After a brief email exchange, they notified me that they would be sending out a replacement; no return necessary. 3 days later, I received my new jump starter. Although it was frustrating to experience an emergency device failure, the manufacturer's immediate action was both respectable and fair. So, I upgraded this item from 1 to 4 stars.
