I finished reading this book yesterday. I enjoyed reading it. But I did find it to be a little long and too much detail. I watched the movie afterward and I have to say, as good as the movie is, the book is way better (as usual right?)
If you like the character Jack Ryan in TV and Movies and like the Navy, you will enjoy this book.
Now on to the physical book. I got the mass market paperback and the quality is what you would expect. Small pages with smallish font and a spine that gets ruined in the process. But that doesn't change the story, only the reading experience. Depending on what you want out of a book (I like to put them on my home "library" bookshelf) you will either like the mass market paperback as it visually looks like you read the book, or you will want to get the hardcover or standard paperback. The mass market paperback does not have the TV show cover, which is something that I like. I prefer hardcover, but I do not like the design of one of the sequel books and I like consistency in book series on my bookshelf, which is why I personally opted for the mass market paperback over the hardcover. But if you only care about the story and or want the cheaper option, the mass market paperback got the job done.
