I'm not a stranger to the Revit programs from Autodesk. Before I decided to learn how to use Revit MEP, I was already quite experienced in Revit Architecture. So I was pleasantly surprised the U.I. on Revit MEP was nearly identical to Revit Architecture. However, if you are a first time user and not familiar with any of the Revit software from Autodesk, I suggest you find a different training book. After reading the first few chapters it seems to jump around a lot from subject to subject. There are plenty of examples and exercises in the book, but what I dislike are the way instructions are written and how the exercises are almost "homework" style. Meaning, once you finish an exercise you tend not to build off or add on to it in future chapters.

Before reading this book, I learned how to use AutoCAD and Revit Architecture quite well from reading the training books published by Sybex. What I really liked about the publisher of those training books was that you start off with a simple exercise at the beginning, and continue to build off of it in future chapters. For example, when learning Revit Architecture using the book published by Sybex, readers were first introduced to the general layout and the first step in the early chapters was to create the walls of the building. Then in the next chapters, readers are taught how to add floors, windows, doors, roofs, interior details, etc... So once you've progressed several chapters into the book you actually have an almost entire completed product from star to finish. This book however just provides quick exercises. Once you finish an exercise you probably won't be using that finished exercise again.

Overall though, if you have a small amount of experience using any of the Revit programs already, than you shouldn't have a hard time following this book. However, if you have zero hours of experience in using Revit, I suggest buying a different training book because some of the instructions in this book are vague from time to time.
