Although this unit is well made I had a lot of trubble making coffee in it because the threads that tie the upper unit to the reservoir appear to stick towards the end which doesn’t provide a tight seal and therefore the unit leaks on the stove. No matter how much twisting power I apply when sealing the unit doesn’t seal and water is spilled on the stove and over the gas fire knowing that the seal is brand new. I bought this unit to replace a existing one I have from the same company which is painted black and over many years of use the paint started to peel off. I am still using the old one with no trubble but avoid the new one like the plague. It might be that some outfits on Amazon are selling inferior brand name products which makes me these days question many of my Amazon purchases.
