Okay-I didn't expect this to be the Great American Novel. In fact, if it weren't about the Beatles, I would never have purchased it. I just thought it would be a fun and light read, and it was definitely light, and I guess occasionally fun. Mostly though, it reads like a reasonable effort produced by a high school junior. Poor dialogue, way too much invented dialog, and thin characters. A near perfect hero, his sweet and dependable woman, and of course the Beatles to keep things marginally engaging. Readable, but in the way popcorn is edible.
