I do love this entire series. True - some books are better than others, but that's the way it seems to be with most series that have 14+ books. This one does take a different turn in that Fortune, Ida Belle, and Gertie are in Florida, hoping to take a nice vacation. Of course, a murder occurs and Gertie is in the middle of it. There are a few twists to the story as the three friends work to find the murderer. I think what makes these books work for me is that Fortune is so capable of taking care of herself.. Yes, she and her friends get into situations, but all three of them think on their feet and tend to figure out how to get out of situations - even those of their own making. I've read a lot of books that claim "If you love Stephanie Plum, you will love this book." Wrong! - at least until the Miss Fortune series. This series comes pretty close. I will continue to enjoy every book that Ms DeLeon adds to the series.
