John Chisholm’s unwavering belief in the value of entrepreneurship to both individuals and society is a fundament theme of Unleash Your Inner Company. And possibly its most important message.
John has written a book that covers essentially all the key challenges that an entrepreneur faces and provides insight and direction, with on-point examples and grab-your-attention anecdotes, that keep the reader engaged to the very last page.
While the book is based on John’s experience as entrepreneur, investor and mentor in Silicon Valley, its value extends to any entrepreneur in a wide range of business environments. In my own area of interest, potential development of new, smaller, easier to deploy, and more economic nuclear power electric generation capability, articularly provoking were chapters 14-Freedom of Frugality, 19-Creating Positive Feedback Loops, 20-Chose Your Best Opportunity, 23-Don’t Waste Time Raising Money, 24-Scalability, and 25-Regulation.
My advice to a first time reader is to start with the last chapter, The Ethics of Entrepreneurship. John presents an incredibly articulate and compelling defense of the value of the entrepreneur to individuals and society. Successful entrepreneurship creates win-win, a worthy goal for every entrepreneur.
Read this book as you would talk to a friend, a very smart and experienced friend, interested in your success.
