I love using my slow cooker. This cookbook gives us recipes made from fresh, natural ingredients. All the recipes look very simple to prepare. One of the key takeaways for me was making homemade sauces, seasonings, and spice blends. I never thought to make beef & chicken broth in my slow cooker. Now I do. These are super quick healthy recipes, requiring less than 15 minutes to prepare. There is a wide variety of flavors and cuisines. All recipes are 600 calories or less, with lots of options in the 200-300 calorie range (for the complete meal). Who knew you could put a turkey breast (bone-in) in the slow cooker?! Recipes I tried so far is the 5-ingredient apple butter, all-American beef stew, and herbed Cornish hens. Slow Cookers are a great kitchen appliance for producing cost-effective healthy meals and minimal work.
