Customer Review

Solid, comfortable to handle and carry, non water-resistant (would be perfect, if it was water resistant, as this lantern, then folded, provides much more useable forward illumination, that is shining and illumiaating mostly forward and is not blinding to your eyes, as comparing to regular Energizer 360 water-resistant Aa/D size lantern or Coleman CPX 6 Easy Hanging LED 200 lumen 4-D-size lantern) lantern, accepts four D size batteries. Sufficiently bright, not as bright as my old Coleman CPX 6 Easy Hanging LED 200 lumen lanter, but is lighter, more comfortable to carry, shines forward if folded and does not blind you, and will suffice in most conditions of NYC apartments. Energizers' lanters are the only lanters utilizing an ingenious one small led night light ( you have 8 white led and 1 orange night light led inside, and can cycle full brighness/low/nightlight). That nightlight led makes sure in complete darkness you are always aware of the environment, location of the lantern, and is great for kids to not get them scared in complete blackout - very useful feature, often overlooked by reviewers. If you have small children, most of them are afraid of the darkness, this is the one to get to use with them, or another Energizer lantern with the same orange led nightlight feature, there are several of them, like Energizer 360 lantern, all are very good. Very affordable, excellent value. Highly recommend. I had bought 3 of them, and 2 solar models of this same lantern.

Update on non-power regulated voltage :
I had found out from NLee the Engineer review this lantern is not power regulated voltage, meaning the lantern will use the batteries faster and inefficient, but I guess for the price of this lantern is not to be expected. I will try the lantern longevity with Eneloops Pro or Amazon Basics High-Capacity inside D-size adapters (2 AA inside one D-adapter), once batteries will go through break in mode on Skyrc NC2500 charger. I live in NYC in Zone A, so I am stacking up just in case.

Update for AA rechargeable batteries use:
Runtime when using AA rechargeable batteries, Amazon Basics High-Capacity, confirmed discharge capacity 2450+ MAh, with a D adapter (1 rechargeable per adapter loaded for testing purposes, so 4 AA rechargeables total) on high is 3 hours full-light-output, after initial 3 "bright" hours it is dimmer and dimmer, useful to somewhat 2 feet-away-illumination around it for another 12 hours, and is on for next 15 hours, useful only as a night light.
Will update with 8 batteries (2 per adapter) and for low light output longevity later.
