I've tried to set this unit up on my network and after at least 8 hours of trying cannot bring it up on my computer screen or any other computer screen. User manual useless. Simply cannot speak with a person in customer service. I've had many Western Digital products. This is the first one that was not straightforward to set up and use. I know a networking consultant, who told me that he will try to help me get it working ($140/hr) but that he recommends the NAS devices of QNAP. $1079 wasted.

As you highlighted in the review about the setup, please know that the device enclosure is diskless and the compatible internal drive needs to be inserted in the My Cloud PR2100 enclosure while setting it up. The recommended method is to connect the device with the internet router directly via Ethernet cable provided and wait for the front Power and drive's LED to be Solid Blue in order to set up the device further via the dashboard.
