Cheap plastic material is used throughout the construction of this umbrella - especially on the part that you have to push/pull to open/close the umbrella. There is no tactile click when closing the umbrella. I always have to do a double take to ensure that the umbrella is actually securely closed.
For this price, I would also expect a spring mechanism to auto open/close the umbrella. A $10 umbrella from big box store can do this. Not sure why this is not an option on this one which costs twice as much.
While the concept is innovative, the materials used in this umbrella leave a lot to be desired.
