We purchased this item because it offered a carafe and single Kcup options. Initially it worked as advertised; however, this morning (12/21/17) we began experiencing a problem with the single cup side. Not sure how describe what is going on but it appears KCups are overflowing and coffee grounds are making a complete mess. Take a close look at the picture. You will see how the water and coffee grounds are pouring out around the rim/seam of the KCup. We tried descaling, even though the cleaning light never came on. We also tried unclogging top piercing needle with a paper clip. Finally, as suggested we tried seating the KCup before closing the brew head. Nothing worked. We bought this as we are having our son and daughter-in-law (who are USAF Aviators) after serving a 6 month deployment in SW Asia and our daughter who works in NYC visiting for Christmas. Good thing we saved or Kreurig. What a waste of money. Judging from other customers, Cuisinart needs to figure out the many problems with this product as it does not always perform as advertised. They should also work on the Customer Service based on comments from the majority of customers who have provided reviews.
