The hype of mechanical keyboards is what prompted me to pursue a new keyboard. Nothing was wrong with my old G15, it was just time for something new. That being said Corsair has always been good to me and they have always put out quality products with the consumer in mind. They have definitely not disappointed me with this amazing piece of mechanical goodness.
The keyboard itself is solidly built and looks clean. Nothing fancy or pretentious. Just clean and functional. Just how I like it. The aluminum chassis is awesome. The drum roller volume control works perfectly and has a solid feel also, along with the USB pass through this was the perfect choice for me.
The keys are raised off the chassis also. This to me will make it really easy to clean. Other keyboards I have had were somewhat sunken and made cleaning under the keys a chore. This keyboard makes cleaning easy as can be as far as I can see.
There are a few things that have to be said though. This keyboard does not have backlighting. This would have been a nice feature, but I was aware of this and is a minor thing. Also not all the keys are mechanical, but this I also knew about. Another minor flaw, if you can even call it that.
It will take some time to get 100% adjusted to the K60. But I already love it. The feeling of typing is amazing. Feed back is second to none with mechanical keys. I just wish I made the jump to mechanical earlier. If you are thinking of trying out mechanical keyboards and are interested in this K60, give it a try. I for one really like the solid feel and the tactile feedback you get from these Cherry Red switches. They are sensitive and you hardly need to press on them much to get the key to register. In the end it is all personal preference, but this keyboard at this price is a good starting point.
Overall this is one of the best keyboards I have ever owned. Solid and functional are the words that come to my mind when using this amazing piece of gaming technology. I have to give it up to Corsair. They keep branching out to new areas and keep amazing me with how good their products are. This keyboard included. I don't want to sound like some kind of fanboy, but I have to say that over time I have proudly become one. Woot! Let the fragging begin!
