  I'm no expert on binoculars but had a compact pair that my wife had bought years ago. Initially they worked okay but carrying them in my bike bag must have been too much for them and they became unusable. I think the prism detatched. I thought I'd give these Autosports a try. They were inexpensive (about $20) and highly reviewed. They are a bit larger than the compact ones I had but infinitely easier to use. They are bright and powerful. The place where you put your hands is highly textured and makes them comfortable to hold steady. They just feel like they are very high quality.
