I've had these boots for about 4 months. They're the slightest bit too large but that isn't a problem if I wear thick socks. The material seems to scuff a bit more easily than leather, but not beyond what you'd expect from regular wear. Waterproofing seems to hold up over time. The real issue I have with them is that the sole is starting to detach from the instep on both boots. I only walk a couple miles a day, inside and on sidewalks, and I expected them to hold up much longer. They're comfortable and I like how they look, but I'm worried that they'll be unwearable in a few months. After I noticed the damage to the sole, some friends said they knew people who had had the same problem, although I wasn't able to find widespread confirmation of the defect online. The Doc Martens website boasts that the synthetic materials don't preclude quality, but for the price I wouldn't chance it with this brand again.
